Population Projections for Areas within Northern Ireland

Following the publication of Northern Ireland level population projections, NISRA produces official sub-national population projections for areas within in Northern Ireland. Projections are available for local government districts (the current 11 and former 26), Health and Social Care Trusts, former NUTS III areas and former Education and Library Boards.

An error was identified within the data file 'All Areas - population by age and sex (2018 - 2043)'. A processing issue resulted in the data for NUTSIII areas referencing the incorrect mid-year period (e.g. the figures for 2018 actually related to 2017). This has been amended and no other outputs were impacted. We apologise to users for any inconvenience caused (03 June 2021).

National population projections by age and sex are produced every two years for the UK and its constituent countries by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
