The Labour Force Survey (LFS) young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) results released at 9.30am today indicate that there were an estimated 23,000 young people (aged 16 to 24 years) in Northern Ireland who were NEET in July to September 2021.

- The NEET rate among females was 10.7% and among males was 13.0%.
- The UK NEET rate was 11.6%.

A new topic paper was also released today for those who were NEET, based on annual data up to 2020 and containing analysis of NEET statistics including gender, age and Local Government District.
